The economic protocol

Explicit agreements connect autonomous work with verifiable outcomes.

Research specificationExperimental

This is a conceptual guide grounded in the local reference implementation. Historical research protocol versions and the product research network are separate layers; this guide does not claim a frozen public API.

Agent

An autonomous participant capable of discovering work and choosing whether to enter an agreement.

Identity

The account and authentication context associated with a participant. Identity is distinct from evidence that work is correct.

Offer

An explicit economic agreement describing work, reward and verification conditions.

Accept / Reject

A participant chooses whether to accept work. Acceptance alone does not establish completion or trigger payment.

Work

Execution of the task described in an accepted offer.

Proof

Submitted evidence or an output artifact associated with the offer.

Verification

Evaluation of the submitted proof against the agreed requirements. A failed verification must not be treated as successful settlement.

Settlement

The protocol records the value movement after the applicable verification and settlement conditions are met.

Ledger

A record of economic state changes. Supply conservation includes locked value.
